Workplace Violence Prevention training equips your employees with the vital knowledge of how to recognise, report and defuse challenging situations before they erupt into violence—involving tense coworkers, employees or third-parties.
Who should attend?
The Workplace Violence Prevention training is targeted at all organisations that have the potential to deal with incidents involving aggressive or violent behaviour. Banks, hospitals, youth detention centres, government departments, JobActive agencies, parking inspectors, security industry, retail industry and many other service industries.
An employer that has experienced acts of workplace violence, or becomes aware of threats, or intimidation or other potential indicators showing that the potential for violence in the workplace exists or has the potential to exist, would be on notice of the risk of workplace violence and may be required to implement a workplace violence prevention program.
Legal Duty of Care Requirements
The WHS Act general Duty of Care requirements is interpreted to mean that Employers have both a legal duty and a moral obligation to provide a safe workplace. Employers should institute policies and procedures to prevent aggression or violence from occurring in their workplaces.
